How the orphanage got started

In 2012, when I went into the village to see why so many children were not going to school, I found that many of those children were orphans or did not have anyone to care for them. So, right away my father, Phidolin Delauriers, gave me permission to make two rooms in our home available for these children so they would be cared for like family. They eat with our family and participate in church services. They also attend the free school that I started that same year,. When I applied to get my orphanage license, I was told that I must have separate buildings for boys and girls. I did not have money for this so I had to place all of the girl orphans with families that would care for them temporarily. Two Haitian doctors in my town now give free medical care to the children because they love the work I am doing. However, I was also told that there must be a medical clinic on the orphanage property. God knows our needs because about that same time a good friend and mission supporter agreed to support my brother Benn to go to medical school. Benn will graduate in 2023 and will return to Mombin Crochu. He will establish a medical center on the property and be the permanent doctor for the orphanage and free school. He will also provide medical care for disadvantaged people in our community. My parents home which was still housing most of the orphans, was almost totally destroyed in a bad storm in 2018. God must have had a plan for us because many people contributed money to build a new orphanage. That beautiful building is now compete and occupied by family and the orphans. However, we do need funds to complete a latrine, supply the home with running water and working bathrooms.
